Wow this comic sums up my career at times as a graphic designer in the space of about 10 minutes! I think it probably touches a nerve with many designers out there and even actually hints to what and why I changed my career! Haha pure find!!

DJ Mix Master Moss

I’ve recently done a branding exercise for a new DJ on the West Midlands scene. He’s a great guy and so excitable that we really went to town on his brand! He had no real requirements other than he wanted a monkey, so it was a great opportunity to explore that! It was also an opportunity to do some experimental portrait and promo shots in particular with lighting and in the end smoke machines!! I really should play more with smoke machines.

I must be on my 5th keyboard now in about three years due to spillages and related incidents with mr.keyboard. Dam those regular cups of tea and ice cold beers! hhmm cold beer…. I know there are covers and various keyboard makes that already aid this unfortunate situation but not quite as sleek as this

Blog, blog, blah, blah.

Well I’ve arrived, I’m blogging. Get me! I read enough of them, so I thought it was about time I started to document my own internet trail! There is no theme really, it’s just what I read and find intriguing both from a nursing point of view and a design one. It really is quite amazing how the two cross over, who’d have thought! I suppose I’ll never get design out of my system now, not that I want to entirely and I can’t stop myself anyway. I find it difficult to look at random things and not think ‘eek what have they done’! The amount of poorly designed information graphics there is in the NHS is shocking too. It’s actually made me look into medical info-graphics… I’m sure there’s a word for that type of career? In fact I follow a couple a blogs now that are based on medical design. I find it fascinating, the artists must have real talents for 3D visualisation.
Anyhoo, here I am rambling. I can ramble to my hearts content now, it doesn’t have to stay in the noggin’! Wonderful…
